Southlands High School Year 9 - Focussing on Careers

Today on the blog U Develop are pleased to welcome our guest bloggers Dominic, Kain, Dillon and Oliver from Southlands High School:

At 9:15am the session began today. This was the session that focussed on Careers and our development. The session started by identifying what has to be included and remembered in presentations in interviews or in front of people.

After going through our skills and scripts that we had written the previous month some of us had to read out our scripts in front of the class. This would provide us with confidence before recording on a microphone.

First it can be quite nerve wracking speaking in front of a group or the class but once we got started some of us had a rush of adrenalin which provided us with ease. We forgot we were recording and forgot our surroundings and it just felt like a normal conversation. The whole experience has provided us with a new found confidence, focus for our dreams and given us time to concentrate on our desired journeys. We are all really looking forward to our next session, next month!!! Thanks Caroline!
