Inspiring Adults With Groundwork For New Leaf Cheshire
For some people work is second nature and it comes easy to them but for a huge percentage of people in Britain there lives a demographic living their lives without employment and supported by the government.
Sometimes there are reasons why this happens, from mental health issues and disabilities to missing out on the nurturing of parents meaning a work ethic is never instilled and the simple idea that "I'd be better off on benefits".
These are the areas that can stop people in their tracks on the way to the job centre. For some, it's feeling low, no confidence, no drive, no communication skills, no qualifications and that's what's stopping them find work. That is until now, The New Leaf Project Cheshire is a project that works with unemployed groups to enhance and develop their personal development skills, make people flourish and provide them with new employability opportunities to work or volunteer in the Cheshire area.
Our tutors work with Groundwork to deliver a programme that ticks all of the boxes for learners. Fun and innovative, engaging projects that incorporate digital learning and practical work based learning which in turn builds confidence.
The 'Listen UP' programme focuses on using media and podcasting techniques as a mechanic to produce a final podcast both individually and within a team. The groups at the same time pick up all of the essential life skills needed for personal and career development in all sectors. 'Listen UP' is proving to be a hit with learners and will soon be City and Guilds accredited so that learners have a recognisable qualification to add value to their CV.
